The Year in Review - 2016

Elliot Grove

Who are you? What's your burning question? Are you motivated and excited about your life? Do you have a pulse?

Every second of every day is a resolution and choice: you resolve to be a lover or a hater;  you choose freedom or bondage; you create a new story or keep reciting an old one; you are an active agent in your world, or just a complainer in someone else's.

In 2017, be the person you want to be, do the thing you want to do, and get with the people who inspire you. Create your own reality, or just start creating.

Thank you for gettin' with Raindance, and thank you for all your support.

Raindance has had a wonderful year thanks to the support of Raindance members, Raindance patrons and benefactors, our postgraduate film degree students, HND BTEC students, filmmakers and film lovers who have attended Raindance Film Festival.

We thank you for your support.
Raindance could not exist without you. You know who you are.

Here's to your best year, ever!
Let's make movies.

Raindance
Since 1992 Raindance has been offering advice and support for independent filmmakers. We started the Raindance Film Festival in 1993, and the British Independent Film Awards in 1998.

Most of our year is spent training thousands of new and established filmmakers in all aspects of film. Among high profile alumni are Christopher Nolan (Batman Begins), David Yates (Harry Potter), Guy Ritchie and Matthew Vaughn – who actually met at a Raindance course. Raindance training is one of the world’s largest catering for over 3000 students per year.

In 2011 we launched an innovative Postgraduate Film Degree with Staffordshire University and the Independent Film Trust.

The 24th Raindance Film Festival has now released it's 2016 festival trailer: a homage to Steven Spielberg who celebrates his 70th birthday this year:

In 2014 we relaunched our production arm, Raw Talent with the feature Deadly Virtues.
