Welcome to the #lockdownlover, a brand new Valentine’s Day Short Film Competition.
So you’re stuck in lockdown over Valentine’s day. Dinner over zoom, amazon delivered flowers, maybe a deliveroo date. How about making a film about it? What is it like for lovers in lockdown?
In case you need more convincing: The top 3 films will win 2X Festival passes and your film screening off-competition in the Raindance Player during the festival
How to Take Part:
First: Shoot a film following all these conditions:
- It can’t be longer than 60 seconds
- It must feature a wide angle shot
- Create a film based on love in lockdown
Second: Post the completed film on Instagram, including @raindancefilmfestival and the hashtag #lockdownlover
E.g.: Hey @raindancefilmfestival, here’s my #lockdownlover short film entry
Submissions close at midnight, Thursday 11th February.
Third: The winners will be announced Sunday 14th February on our Instagram
The Fine Print
- One entry per person.
- Submissions under 60 seconds will be accepted,
- Submissions over 60 seconds will be ineligible.
- Opening titles and closing credits are included in your runtime.
- Your film must be made after January 1, 2020

Hi – So I just tried to load my 59 second video to Instagram but apparently it’s not going to be accepted because Insta only accepts videos which are 60 seconds minimum. I’m so sad!! Is there any other way to submit?
