6 February: Live!Ammunition! Berlin

More than 200 filmmakers gathered for Raindance’s signature pitching contest during the annual Berlinale – Berlin International Film Festival.

25 April: The Independent Filmmaker’s Ball

We hosted the hottest party in town, invited filmmakers and indie film lover’s alike for a spectacular evening of fundraising and celebration for indie film!
 

17 May: Cannes Villa Party

We danced, enjoyed complementary drinks, and the breathtaking views from Super Cannes with Raindance guests during the Cannes Film Festival!

1 June, Sep & Oct:  Postgraduate

In June, September AND October 2015, we welcomed brand new cohorts of Raindance Students onto our pioneering Postgraduate film degree programme.
 

14 September: Raindance @ Tiff Industry Party & Pitch Video Contest

We partied at the Toronto International Film Festival, gathering the newest generation of filmmakers and connecting them with film industry leaders and awarded the $2,000 Indiegogo Bucks Grand Prize.

23 September – 4 October: 23rd Raindance Film Festival

The 23rd Annual Raindance Film Festival kicked off in September where we showcased and celebrated the best of independent cinema from around the world right in the heart of London. Over 16,500 attended and watched shorts, fetures, documentaries and web series from over 45 countries.

28 September Our Raw Talent feature released in UK

This gritty feature made with funds provided by international Raindance members sold over 5,000 DVDs in it’s first month UK release. Over 400,000 have viewed the trailer online here.

6 December: British Independent Film Awards

We finished the year off in style by celebrating the best that British Independent cinema has to offer at the BIFAs, where two films that screened at Raindance Film Fest were nominated for the Discovery Award!

Elliot Grove is the founder of Raindance Film Festival and the British Independent Film Awards. He has produced over 700 hundred short films and also five feature films, including the multi-award-winning The Living and the Dead in 2006, Deadly Virtues in 2013 and AMBER in 2017. He teaches screenwriting and producing in the UK, Europe, Asia and America.

Elliot has written three books which have become industry standards: Raindance Writers’ Lab: Write + Sell the Hot Screenplay, now in its second edition, Raindance Producers’ Lab: Lo-To-No Budget Filmmaking and Beginning Filmmaking: 100 Easy Steps from Script to Screen (Professional Media Practice).

In 2009 he was awarded a PhD for services to film education.
