A recent graduate from the NFTS Screenwriting MA, where he worked on a number of films including ‘My face is in Space’ (LFF, EIFF, Mclaren Nomination for Best British Short, LIAF 2012) and ‘Graceland’ (ECU 2012) Daniel’s 2010 sitcom ‘Gypos’ was a finalist in the BBC College of Comedy and workshopped with Micheal Jacob to be performed as a stage play at the Soho Theatre. In 2011, he successfully pitched to a jury including Lord Puttnam and worked with Jon Plowman as part of the BBC Climate Change film process. He then wrote and directed the BBC/Open Uni film ‘Eats Shoots and Leaves’, starring Olivia Williams (Rushmore, Sixth Sense). His 2012 feature script “Release” was developed with Screen International Star of Tomorrow Robbie Mckillop and shortlisted for the NFTS/Vertigo development scheme. He’s also worked at companies like Turner Broadcasting, Red Bee Media, BBC World, Virgin Media, Hub TV and Alpha Century for a number of years as a creative, winning 2 Promax Gold advertising awards and making on air promos and adverts for brands as diverse as Seat Ibiza, House of Fraser and the House of Lords! His long play ‘Daytrippers’ was performed at the Theatre Royal East in Stratford in June 2013 and he’s recently been developing a true crime television series for TV2 in Norway. He’s working on another feature, ‘In Utero’ which is being developed as part of the Regards Croises program, in association with the British Council and Edinburgh International Film Festival.
He’s a mentor and a tutor for the Raindance film festival/MA film program and is represented by Laura Rourke at Independent Talent.
