My First Week At Raindance - Raindance
Dov Simens at BIFA

Dov Simens at the British Independent film Awards

Read this through and I’ll send you the Raindance Short Film Distributor List – it’s something no film school gives you.

With over 250 events and screenings to choose from, it can be really tough figuring out how to plan your time.

Here’s my Raindance Film Festival Plan:

25 Sept: Opening Night Gala with Afterparty and PEPE DELUXE
How to make money Selling Drugs has been getting 5 star reviews across the board and well done Raindance for getting this one. Coupled with juror Julian Assange and Beth Gibbons, this is the festival that likes to get people thinking and talking.

To top it off, somehow they managed to secure Europe’s top art-house band, Pepe Deluxe!

No Brainer. I hope there’s tickets left.

26 Sept: Live Music from TURIN BRAKES
Another of my favourite bands in a secret gig? Awesome

27 Sept: 2 Jacks
Bernard Rose’s remake of Tolstoy starring Danny Houston and Sienna Miller (attending)
Dah. No brainer

28 Sept: The Black Square – Japan – nominated Best International Feature
Raindance has always been known for it’s Way Out East strand and were the first western festival to play Japanese films. The lineup in this year’s Japanese strand looks enticing.

29 Sept: Downloaded – Alex Winter’s expose of Napster – he joins us by Skype
I’ve been a huge Alex Winter fan since Bill and Ted’s Big Adventure (he played opposite Keanu Reeves. And we get to see him on Skype!

***30 Sept: Love.Honour.Obey – the first feature from Raindance’s own production arm – Raw Talent
This I have to see – Raindance preaches micro budget – but what happens in practise?

Oct 1: Live!Ammunition! – the legendary pitching panel returns
I’ve been before and this event is nail-chewingly tense

Britain’s First Web Fest Sept 28/29 celebrating online content
Screenings, events and awards!

The best way to Raindance?

If I bought all these screenings (except Opening Night) and caught two of the money panels at web Fest – it would cost me £108.00. BUT if I bought a Popcorn Pass for £100 I’d get all the screenings, all the events (except opening and closing night)
And I’d get £20.00 to spend at the concession both at Raindance or any VUE cinema!

And there’s still 6 days to go!

Ooops I forgot! You want the Short Film Distributor List!
It’s right here:
