Welcome to the 25th Raindance Film Festival!

Raindance can’t run without its army of fantastic volunteers and while this work is unpaid we’re confident that it will be worth your while. Not only is it a good way to see an important side of the UK film industry, you’ll have an amazing opportunity to meet like-minded people and to network with industry professionals.

Each year we recruit around 100 volunteers, a perfect way to get involved for anybody wanting to gain work experience whilst broadening their film knowledge.

IMPORTANT: Please note you must be 18 to be eligible and commit to at least 5 full days or 10 half days between 20 September-01 October 2017.

How to register as a Volunteer

Volunteer positions
  • General / Stewarding
    Stewarding, ushering and invigilation of festival events and exhibitions.
  • Box Office / Accreditation Desk / Information Desk
    You will be the first point of contact for Public and Guests. For these roles you will be able to work calmly under pressure and remain professional at all times. Perfect for those with great communication skills and with a passion for film and large scale events and festivals!
  • Events / Production / Runner
    Helping with the installation, running and take-down of screenings and events.
  • Marketing / Promotion / Data Capture
    Promotional support, e-marketing, social media support, distribution of marketing materials, getting feedback from the members of the public and inputting audience data.
  • Photography / Documentation
    Documenting the events, films and exhibitions through photography and video. Camera experience is essential, as well as your own professional equipment.
  • Office / Admin
    Assisting the festival team in the office with general festival admin including mail-outs, inputting data and collating information.
  • Q&A Hosts
    We invite filmmakers whose work is screening at the Festival to participate in Q&A sessions. Your role as Q&A Host is to meet and greet the filmmakers, make sure they are properly prepared and most importantly, interview them at the end of the screening. For this role we are looking for students in film or journalism (with a good knowledge of film). You will also need to be comfortable in public speaking.
  • Hospitality
    Your role will be to look after guests and sponsors when they first arrive at the Festival, registering them and providing them with all the needed information they may require. You need to be friendly, approachable and calm under pressure.
