Description

At a glance

  • Learn how to come up with your script’s concept
  • Find out how to write your film’s pitch
  • Identify your screenplay’s themes
How is your screenplay different? What’s it really about? Cultivating a strong CONCEPT and identifying a central THEME can be the key to unlocking the true potential of a screen work.
Most writers and directors are confident to discuss character, plot, and story, but seem on less solid ground when it comes to articulating what makes their screen work unique and what they are attempting to communicate to an audience.
As a screenwriter, story consultant and director of the MA programme at Raindance, Rick Harvey will guide you through the pertinent questions to ask of your work in order to add depth, dimension, and originality.

What you will learn

  • How to identify a solid concept within your screenwork
  • How to identify a unifying, universal, and personal theme within your screen work
  • How to develop your concept and theme into your pitch
  • How to think like a producer when evaluating your screen work
