Who should attend?
This presentation is ideal for those who want to direct performances for the camera, who want to be performers on camera, or indeed anyone connected with or interested in screen drama who want to know more about what really goes on when creating those memorable characters we all enjoy watching so much on the screen.
About the Tutor
Patrick has been presenting his Workshops for Raindance for well over twenty years, with courses for both actors and for directors, and has been directing professional actors on stage and on screen since he went into the profession in the 1960s. He has worked in Germany, Ireland, Jordan, the UK and the USA; and in their own languages in Denmark, Israel, Latvia and South Korea.
Neal OBrien –
This is a great counterweight to all the Method and Meisner acting courses. Patrick Tucker, who has written a book about practical techniques, passes on the highlights here. While an actor at may benefit from Method techniques, if they get all the camera-specific crafts wrong it won’t matter, so this class makes sure you understand how to get results fast, as well as pointing out the differences between Screen and Theatre. I have so far only taken the first session, part 2 is coming next week. The price is great and the information well presented, but I deduct one star because we need practice. I’d suggest having the students submit 30 second to 1 minute clips for set lines to a whatsapp account Patrick could playback and give feedback. Obviously an online acting class has some limitations but no reason we couldn’t do that and without practice it’s hard to get there….

My head is brimming from a feast of useful and digestible information with examples, condensed into two entertaining 2 hour lectures. Handout was excellent too. Anyone serious about a screen acting career cannot afford to be without Patrick’s advice!
