3 – 2 – 1 – ACTION!

SCREENWRITING COMPETITION… WITH A TWIST

Send us your screenplays and we will choose the best one and turn it into a movie.

It’s as easy as 1,2,3… just backwards.

3 – 2 – 1 – ACTION!

=

3 pages – 2 actors – 1 location – Action!

You write the screenplay(s), we choose the best one and produce it for you.

What’s the Twist? There is a DIRECTING competition attached to the SCREENWRITING competition.

The winning screenplay will be directed by the winner of the directing competition.

Two in one: a screenplay competition and a directing competition from Raindance Vancouver.

PRIZES:

  • Best Screenplay will be produced.

  • Winning Director will receive a cash prize – TBC.

  • Final film will screen at Raindance Film Festival 2020.

It all starts with the story. And storytelling is an art. Are you a talented storyteller?

Who should register for our screenwriting competition?

The 3 – 2 – 1 – Action! screenwriting competition is created to give independent screenwriters the opportunity to “try their pens” and compete with fellow indie screenwriters in writing the best very short story which will become a movie to screen at Raindance Film Festival 2020.

If you are a new and emerging screenwriter, seasoned writer from other disciplines, a professional working in other departments of filmmaking (directors, actors, crew etc.) who have a story to tell and can do it in a short sweet 3 pages with 2 actors in 1 location this competition is for you.

Who should register for our directing competition?

The 3 – 2 – 1 – Action! directing competition is created to facilitate a professional working environment where the winning screenwriter and the winning director work together to create a great little movie that will be screened at Raindance Film Festival 2020.

If you are a new and emerging director with minimum 2 short film credits in your portfolio and want to work with other peoples to bring their stories to the big screen this competition is for you.

* A different event will be created for the directors’ competition on the website when registrations open (January 25, 2020).
