It is the standard coverage that a producer, studio or TV company would produce to evaluate a project. It enables you to get professional feedback on what works, what doesnʼt work and gives you concrete tools to take the project to the next level.

The notes will be 2-3 pages and cover story/structure/characters/dialogue/tone/craft and marketability of the project. Our experienced story analyst offers constructive guidelines and suggestions on the screenplay.

A Raindance Canada Detailed Coverage will give you a thorough analysis of your screenplay as well as very specific suggestions on how to improve the next draft. A full report is usually 6 or 7 pages and gives scene to scene notes, although it may be longer depending on the needs of your screenplay.

You will be able to directly contact our script editor via e-mail after receiving your report so that you can come back with any questions you have.

If you wish to have follow-up on your screenplay and to benefit from our guidance throughout the whole process we offer the same service but at a lower rate.

If you live in Toronto your might prefer to receive feedback in person. For $265 our script editor will read your script then meet you for two hours to give notes and feedback.

Raindance Canada believes short film screenplays should be given the same care as feature length screenplays. This is why we offer coverage for short film scripts, up to twenty pages in length.
Youʼll receive detailed feedback and your script will be returned with annotations (either as a Final draft or PDF file).

Youʼll be given suggestions on how to improve your work and will be able to contact your script editor by-mail should you have any questions about your report.

Originally from France, Stéphanie Joalland is a Toronto based story and script editor for film and television projects, working in French and English across Canada, France and the US. Having started as a reader for Canal Plus, she worked as a script consultant for TF1 on more than ten international animation shows co-produced between France and North  America such as the very successful series TOTALLY SPIES (Teletoon) or Emmy nominated PET ALIENS (Cartoon Network). As a writer, she adapted the comic book VALERIAN & LAURELINE for Europa Corp (Luc Besson's company).

After moving to Los Angeles in 2007 and graduating from a film program at UCLA she transitioned to film and story edited numerous feature length projects in the US while her own feature film screenplays were showcased at prestigious events such as the IPF's Independent Film Week in NYC.

Also a writer/producer/director with several short films under her belt, she is currently
in pre-production on her first feature film, a supernatural thriller, to be produced by Sean
McConville (writer/producer/director of "Deadline", starring Brittany Murphy).
