Raindance today announced its launch of the UK’s first ever Web Fest - a dedicated web series ‘micro-festival’ taking place on 28th and 29th September during the Film Festival itself.

Web Fest will feature a packed schedule of panel discussions, with subjects covering audience development, lessons from YouTubers, product placement and branding, and future of web TV. There will also be world premiere screenings, including Producing Juliet, the latest from Tina Cesa Ward, whose previous series Anyone But Me captured over 35 million views.

The addition of Web Fest to the Raindance Film Festival line-up marks the organizations dedication to supporting film makers; however they choose to distribute their work.

Elliot Grove, Raindance Founder comments: “Film makers need to adapt to how everyone is consuming media today.  Web TV isn’t just for the small screen; it’s the portable screen so we need to know how to adapt to provide bitesize content that makes a big impression. As Raindance is dedicated to supporting film making talent, we wanted Web Fest to offer guidance as to how to generate and manage your content as well as showcase emerging talent. Not only will we encourage new film makers to consider web content, we’re incredibly proud to have a number of World Premieres scheduled for Web Fest too.”

The Web Fest Best Web Series will be announced on Sunday 29th September, with the award judged by hand-picked figures from the media world including, Lisa Campbell (Editor, Broadcast Magazine), Ross Whittow-Williams (Executive Producer, BigBalls Films), Mick Greenwood (Managing Editor, MSN Video UK & International Video Project) and Chris Sussman (Executive Editor, BBC Comedy).

All other tickets to the festival will be on sale from 3rd September at www.myvue.com/raindance and 08712 240242, full details can be found at www.raindancefestival.org.
