Who is Elliot Grove?
Elliot started Raindance as a thought experiment in the depths of the last big British depression in 1992. It was his thought experiment: Can you make a movie with no money, no training and no experience? His first intern was Edgar Wright. Christopher Nolan used his Soho office as a base. And Raindance Film Festival has since gained global recognition. Elliot also founded BIFA
Who is Johnny Johnson?
Johnny Johnson is a VR evangelist who embraced the world of 360° filmmaking at the very start of its current incarnation in 2014.
Having initiated his career by studying at Westminster Film School, he went on to become a freelance camera assistant on a wide range of commercials, movies and TV dramas.
In 2007 he formed a facilities rental company and has continued to work in production facilities and media business development for a range of broadcast and media organisations since.
Alongside this work, he has produced a number of shorts, commercials and a horror feature.
He currently operates SpeedVR as a resource for the 360° VR filmmaking community, whilst working as a VR producer on numerous commercials for all the large brands.
Who is Steve Kaplan?
For years, Steve Kaplan has been the industry’s most sought-after expert on comedy. In addition to having taught at UCLA, NYU, Yale and other top universities, Steve Kaplan created the HBO Workspace, the HBO New Writers Program and was co-founder and Artistic Director of Manhattan Punch Line Theatre. He regularly serves as a consultant and script doctor to such companies as Dreamworks, Disney, HBO, Paramount, Touchstone and others.
At Manhattan Punch Line Theatre he developed writers such as Peter Tolan (Analyze This, Finding Amanda), writer and producer David Crane (Friends, Joey, The Class), writer/producer Tracy Poust (Ugly Betty, Will & Grace), Michael Patrick King (The Comeback, Sex and The City, Will & Grace), David Ives (Venus in Fur), Lisa Loomer, Tom Donaghy, Sandra Tsing Loh (CHICKEN LITTLE), Kenneth Lonergan and Mark O’Donnell (HAIRSPRAY starring John Travolta)
